Dr. Stone: New World Anime Reveals Trailer and April 2023 Debut

A new trailer for the upcoming third season of the Dr. Stone anime, titled Dr. Stone: New World, premiered on December 17 at the Jump Festa’23 event. The video officially announces that the anime will begin airing in the spring of 2023, in the month of April.

On December 12, a teaser video and key visual for the anime were posted to the official website. Maaya Sakamoto has been cast as Ryusui’s butler, Francois.

This season’s episodes will be directed by Shuhei Matsushita at TMS Entertainment. Yusuke Kobayashi will be providing the voice of Senku Ishigami, the main character of the series.

In July of 2019, Crunchyroll and Funimation began streaming the first season of the anime. On Toonami, it made its debut that same month. Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, the second season, debuted in January of 2021.

On July 10 of this year, an hour-long anime special titled Dr. Stone: Ryusui was broadcast.

In March of 2017, Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi debuted their original manga in Weekly Shonen Jump. On March 7, the manga series concluded.

In a world where everyone has been turned to stone by some unknown force, Senku Ishigami, a young boy with an extraordinary aptitude for science, awakens after several thousand years.

With no other option in the face of a stone world and the complete collapse of civilization, Senku resolves to use science to restore humanity’s home. With the help of his super-strong childhood friend Taiju Oki, who came to consciousness at the same time, he and his companions will start from scratch to rebuild civilization.

This groundbreaking crafting adventure story spans two million years of scientific history, from the Stone Age to the present day.

Japanese mangaka Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi created the Dr. Stone series. Beginning on March 6, 2017, it has been serialized in Weekly Shnen Jump, with Shueisha collecting and publishing the individual chapters in thirteen tankbon volumes as of November 2019.

When an unknown burst of light struck Earth, it turned everyone there into stone. A student in the year 4000, four thousand years after Senku, discovers a planet devoid of humans.

Nature has reclaimed Earth, and animals now hold all the power. Senku and his companion Taiju set out to revive humanity.

In April of 2023, the third season will premiere.
