DREAMS COME TRUE Collaborates With Sonic For Their New Single
There is something about old video game music that just puts a smile on your face. It’s even better when these nostalgic tunes are integrated into modern music, like what DREAMS COME TRUE is doing.
Back in July, they had released their song “Tsugino Seno! De – ON THE GREEN HILL — DCT VERSION” in collaboration with Japanese drinks company Ito En.
The song features the original soundtrack from the first level of the iconic Sonic the Hedgehog video game from 1991 and combines Miwa Yoshida’s amazing vocals.
Although this version of the song made waves in its own right, DREAMS COME TRUE has now released “Tsugino Seno! De – ON THE GREEN HILL – MASADO & MIWASCO VERSION” before the release of their official song CD.
The new version of the song is now available for streaming on all the major platforms.
This alternate version is overall very similar to old game music with tons of iconic samples like the sound of getting consecutive coins and spinning the disks from the original game.
J-Pop artist DREAMS COME TRUE has also released the album cover for their upcoming “Next Se-no! De –ON THE GREEN HILL-” CD. The CD will be released on September 22, 2021.
This is a special collaboration between the virtual DREAMS COME TRUE (Dori Kamu) MASADO AND MIWASCO and the character Sonic from SEGA Mega Drive Game “Sonic The Hedgehog.”
The cover feature Sonic with virtual avatars from DREAMS COME TRUE in the classic Green Hill Zone setting from the game.
DREAMS COME TRUE is a duo consisting of Masato Nakamura the bassist and the composer and arranger Miwa Yoshida. You might be wondering why they suddenly decided to get inspired by the old Sonic music.
As it turns out, there isn’t any inspiration at all. Masato Nakamura is the very person who made the music for Sonic the Hedgehog games in the first place. Even after all these years, his compositions remain as relevant as ever.
Be sure to check out DREAMS COME TRUE for their amazing music.
