Fang of the Sun Dougram, One of the Pioneer Mecha Anime, Receives Manga!
Fang of the Sun Dougram is a mecha anime with a realistic base. Yes, it involves giant robots fighting each other and other futuristic elements, but its base is politics rather than outright war.
It is also one of the earliest mecha anime series and is the embodiment of the saying, “old is gold.” The characters don’t go out of their way to value honor over logic which makes the anime even more unique.
The anime will soon get a manga adaptation, and fans will be overjoyed to know who the mangaka is.
The Fang of the Sun Dougram anime is inspiring a manga adaptation that Yasuo Ohtagaki will pen. The manga will start serialization from 28th May on the eBigComic4 website of Shogakukan.
Yasuo Ohtagaki is the Moonlight Mile manga’s creator, and he also launched the Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt manga. Moonlight Mile is a space adventure-based manga and anime series, and we all know Gundam Thunderbolt’s fame in the mecha genre.
Thus, Ohtagaki is already a veteran with over 20 years of experience in the particular sub-genre. I don’t think fans can be any more happier about this decision.
Ryousuke Takahashi, the director of the Fangs of the Sun Dougram (1981) anime series, will also be supervising the manga!
How To Watch Gundam? Easy Watch Order Guide
With a 75 episode anime series, an anime film, and OVA, Dougram is a well-received anime series. We are not yet sure if the manga will be loosely based on the anime or adapt it as a whole.
In just two more weeks, the first chapter of the manga will be published, and we will be introduced to the spacial colonies of Earth from the Dougram anime once again!
