Fantasy Anime ‘Deji’ Meets Girl’s New PV Reveals MC’s Voice Actor

‘Deji’ Meets Girl, the upcoming original short anime, will fulfill the part of your heart that has been longing for more Ghibli-like films.

A mysterious boy sets the story’s events in motion as no law of nature applies to him. Every bizarre situation points at him, from fishes floating in the air to trees growing out of nowhere.

Under the guise of a slice of life, this show packs loads of unexplainable incidents and mysterious people. ‘Deji’ Meets Girl is the kind of show that makes you introspect over reality more than it should.

With Liden Films’ beautiful animation routine, the short anime ‘Deji’ Meets Girl will premiere at the Montreal Fantasia Film Festival on August 25, 2021. 

It will be regularly broadcasted from October 2021. A new promotional video has also been released for the same. 

The PV starts with a simple line art for one of the main characters, Maise Higa. It then introduces us to the other protagonist, Ichiro Suzuki, who usually has a nonchalant expression painted on his face.

But as soon as he appears in front of Higa, strange things start to happen. By that, I mean unimaginably strange. And what’s more intriguing is that Higa is the only person who can see, feel and experience these unusual phenomena.

The PV revealed that Kiyono Yasuno would voice the character of Maise Higa. Yasuno has also voiced Nejire Hado in My Hero Academia and Renner in Overlord.

About ‘Deji’ Meets Girl

‘Deji’ Meets Girl is a Japanese original short anime television series produced by Liden Films. It will premiere in October 2021.

The story begins one summer when Higa Maise, a listless first-year high school girl who works part-time at the front desk of her family’s hotel in Okinawa, meets “Suzuki Ichirou,” a mysterious youth who came alone from Tokyo as a hotel guest.

Since Suzuki’s arrival, “deji” things have been happening around Maise, like fish swimming around the room. (“Deji” is an Okinawan word that means “totally” or “very.”)
