Fargo: Is Season Five A Possibility?
Will there be a new season of Fargo? Fans of the TV show have been asking the same question after every season. The crime drama is currently airing its fourth season on FX. Throughout its four-season run, it has been notorious for making fans wait for new seasons. The third season aired two years after the second one, and season four aired three years after season four ended.
So, it is quite early to answer if there will ever be another season of Fargo. The show often jumps back and forth in time, which means that the production and sets have to be prepared according to a specific time in history.
The first season of Fargo was set in the early 2000s, while the second one moved back to the 1970s. The fourth season is set even further back in time- it revolves around two rival gangs in Kansas, Missouri, in the 1950s.
Because of the time jump, most of the characters do not overlap with each other. New characters have to be introduced every season and a compelling story has to be written for them.
Does that mean that there is no possibility of a fifth season? Creator Noah Hawley is not ruling it out. He has acknowledged how important the story and characters are for Fargo and how long it takes for a story to be put together.
But, he says that he wishes to spend some time at home with his kids and that he has a new novel to finish. So, it is safe to say a new season won’t be coming right away.
