Free! Upcoming Film Reveals Trailer & 2021 Debut Date
Free! is a sports-themed anime franchise that concentrates on the swimming genre. The healthy rivalry between athletes is also beautifully portrayed in the story.
Haruka Nanase, the protagonist of the story, has difficulty expressing his emotions.
Still, his childhood friends, rivals, and the people around him have helped him develop both physically and mentally.
The official website of the Free! anime franchise is currently streaming a promotional video for the upcoming film, which will release in 2021.
Kyoto Animation is the producer of the Free! franchise.
The trailer opens with shots from the time Haruka, Rin, Makoto, and Nagisa were children, it then shifts to a shot of them as teenagers, while holding swimming medals.
Haruka is then shown flawlessly, cutting through the water.
Refreshing visuals accompany the trailer as all the characters are shown and their playing ground, the swimming pool is portrayed. Haruka and his friends can be seen walking in for a tournament.
The trailer states: “Haruka Nanase: His challenge on the world begins…”
The upcoming film will be the fourth film in the Free! franchise. It was initially supposed to premiere in 2020 but was delayed due to various internal circumstances plus the coronavirus pandemic.
An event was supposed to take place in 2019 to preview the trailer and film intro, but it was postponed after the Kyoto Animation attack, in which 36 people lost their lives.
Free! Dive To The Future portrays Haruka and his friends attending university, the plot of the upcoming film will supposedly continue from that point onwards.
The Free! franchise has accumulated fame in a short amount of time, which led to it being adapted into three anime series and three anime films by 2018.
