The spin-off will revolve around the much-awaited love story of Tohru’s parents, Kyoko and Katsuya. Why are they so popular, though? To answer this, Kyoko in Fruits Basket satisfied the wishes of all those found-family trope lovers.
Even though the whole series revolves around the 13 Chinese Zodiacs and their relationship with Tohru, Kyoko stood out and was hailed as the mother of the century by everyone.
The finale revealed all the secrets that were being held that got us more Kyoko and Katsuya content. It was revealed how much Kyoko loved her husband, and how death separated them.
In the last episode of Season 3, we see Kyoko and Katsuya reunited in the afterlife as fans went crazy over it. Their story is essential and needs to be seen by all!
What happened between Kyo and Kyoko?
The staff also released a commemorative 6-minute long short film as the series concluded.
It showed us various moments from the show, both sad and happy, of each character, along with a personal message from their cast.
In the end, we get a very wholesome and emotional Kyoko and Katsuya shot.
The short film is full of spoilers and I was in tears while watching all those scenes from the show. So if you haven’t started the series yet, I strongly suggest that you do.
From taking in and accepting problematic children like Arisa and Kyo to being a free-spirited mother, Kyoko is a fantastic character. And we cannot wait to see her side of the story as well.
We are damn excited about the spin-off as there is no such thing as enough Fruits Basket content!
