Fruits Basket: The Final Trailer Dives Deep Into Akito’s Despair: Premieres April 5

We were already pretty sad knowing that Fruits Basket: The Final will put an end to this incredible story, and adding salt to the injury, the franchise released a trailer that touches upon the strings of fate in our hearts.

The series is full of Chinese zodiac animals, mysteries, curses, and whatnot, somehow centering around the cute and clueless protagonist, Tohru Honda.

Well, she isn’t clueless anymore and is ready to love Kyo for who he really is.

Funimation released a new trailer video for Fruit Basket: The Final that was filled with both heart-warming and heart-breaking moments. The final season premieres on April 5, 2021.

The trailer reveals that Isuzu Sohma, as known as Rin, is trying to break their curse. Meanwhile, Akito is seen crying as she slaps Kyo for trying to comfort her.

In the next scene, Yuki decides to tell Machi that he isn’t a normal human and hopes that it won’t affect the feelings growing between them.

The trailer ends with Shigure proposing Akito with a flower. At that moment, I felt that Akito deserves this happiness despite everything she has done in the past.

Judging from the considerable amount of watch time Akito got in the trailer, it is assumed that the upcoming season will explore Akito’s past in the deep dungeons.

According to the latest announcements, voice actor Akira Ishida and Ai Orikasa will play the roles of Akito’s father and mother, respectively.

Just a few days ago, a key visual was revealed where we saw Tohru, Kyo, Yuki, Akito, Shigure, and Kazuma, all connected to each other with cables, forming a web-like structure.

It is said, “All’s well that ends well.” The story has been fantastic till Season 2, and all our hopes lie on this final instalment to put an end to this emotionally wild journey.
