Even though the phenomenon is not due to a cliche reason, the story behind it is more or less the same. Mahiro Oyama, an erotic-game lover, becomes the test subject for one of his sister’s crazy experiments and is turned into a girl.
Mahiro has to navigate his bizarre life now, and we can witness this journey as an anime next year.
Yes, that’s right. The latest trailer for ONIMAI: I’m Now Your Sister! has revealed the anime’s debut in January 2023.
This new teaser shows the lazy Mahiro and his messy room with garbage bags, typical of an otaku who stays indoors and plays games all day.
After waking up, Mahiro gets the shock of his life when he sees his appearance has changed overnight. Hearing his scream, Mahiro’s sister Mihiro comes into the room and explains that his transition into a girl results from one of her science experiments.
Mahiro is forced to lead his life as a girl, transfer to junior high, and make new friends till his sister finds a cure for it.
Moreover, the trailer previews two new characters: the Hozuki sisters, and reveals their voice cast too:

Mahiro is shown to get into many hilarious situations with the sisters that can be easily misinterpreted. This happens mainly because they’re not aware yet that he used to be a guy.
To top it off, the older sister Kaede is Mahiro’s former middle school classmate, and the younger sister Momiji is shown to develop a crush on Mahiro.

About ONIMAI: I’m Now Your Sister!
ONIMAI: I’m Now Your Sister! is a manga by Nekotofu that was first released in 2017. The series will receive an anime adaptation as well.
‘The anime focuses on Mahiro, a shut-in guy who suddenly wakes up and discovers that he has become a girl. He quickly realizes that his sister must have experimented on him.
Now, Mahiro has to learn how to live like a woman while trying to get back into his normal form.
