Gyoko No Nikuko-san, Coming-of-Age Anime Film, Premieres In 2021
Gyoko no Nikuko-san features a story of a mother and daughter duo who are in the process of figuring out life. The story is narrated by Kikurin, the 11-year-old daughter of the titular Nikuko.
Kikurin describes their life in a small fishing town. Kikurin expresses her desire to live outside the small town and describes the relationships of the people around her.
The light novel packs a lot of punch, and I cannot wait for the calming anime film that it has the potential to be turned into.
Studio 4°C has recently announced that it will be animating the Gyoko no Nikuko-san light novel. The anime film will premiere in early summer in Japan.
A short promotional video was also revealed for the upcoming anime film.
The PV hints at a very peaceful anime film. Since it is based on a fishing town and focuses on the slice of life genre, I am looking forward to seeing how Kikurin sees her life at the place.
Kikurin is shown sitting in a boat, reading a book, while Nikuko is enjoying herself. Nikuko works at a Yakinuku place because no matter how much a town is known for fishing, everyone craves meat sometimes.
