As the Iwatobi Swim Club preps for the Sydney tournament in Free! – The Final Stroke. The swimming saga that had us on our heels for the last eight years is ready to take us on a ride one last time.

The official website of Kyoto Animation’s anime film “Free! – The Final Stroke part one” released a new trailer featuring the theme song “Heading to Over – Version: Free” by Japanese rock band OLDCODEX on their social handles today (August 26).
The first part of the Free! – The Final Stroke anime film will launch on September 7, 2021, followed by part 2 on April 22, 2022.
The trailer starts with Haruka as he bolsters himself before the competition. Soon enough, the hyped-up theme song kicks in, and Haruka jumps into the fray. We quickly get a Rocky-like montage scene with various characters jumping in and out.
Another main focus of the trailer was Alberto Volandel, the current world champion and the final obstacle Haruka faces on his way to Sydney Trophy. Overall the trailer is quite a tease and hypes up the upcoming film even more.
The anime film Free! – The Final Stroke immediately sets off after the third season of the television series. The story follows Haruka as he competes against Alberto Volandel in Sydney.

About Free!
Free! is animated by Kyoto Animation and is loosely based on the light novel, High Speed!, by Koji Oji.
The series revolves around members of a high school boy’s swimming team. The youngsters participate in a swimming tournament right before they graduate from middle school and go their separate ways.
Free! has a unique concept by using the sport of competitive swimming as their focal point. The animation, art, and sound used in the series complement the story well.
