High Rise Invasion Season 2: What Is Netflix Planning? Release Date & More!
Tsuina Miura’s Tenku Shinpan is a huge name in the isekai genre. Over the years, the fans of the manga had a widespread demand for an anime release. In 2021, that demand was heard, and the series saw the light of the day. The twelve-episode season came out on February 2021 on Netflix. However, since then, it has been out of the news. So, what is the fate of High Rise Invasion Season 2? Is it happening? Here is everything you need to know about it.
High Rise Invasion originally began on December 5, 2013. It was written by Tsuina Miura and illustrated by Takahiro Oba. Kodansha published all the twenty-one volumes of the manga for more than six years. Later in 2021, Studio Zero-G brought the anime adaptation of this isekai action series. But since these developments, nothing new has hit the floors. Now, fans look forward to the second season with high hopes.
High Rise Invasion Season 2: Renewal Status
As of the last update, there is no public announcement of the renewal of High Rise Invasion Season 2. Along with Netflix, animation Studio Zero-G has also remained out of the frame ever since the last release. Moreover, no staff member has come to the public platform to talk about the return of the series. Post the twelfth episode, the makers have their lips tied about the series. However, there are many factors that work under the umbrella of the return.
The overall reception of this Netflix anime series has remained decent over the years. The IMDb rating of the series has been 6.6 stars out of ten. More than two thousand viewers have voted the series above the scale of six. Moreover, the MyAnimeList of the series has remained to be 6.78. Around a hundred thousand voters have given this score. Thus, as suggested by the show’s rating, the chances of renewal are expectable. However, it is not as high as something Netflix would keep on their top priority list.
High Rise Invasion Season 2: Production Details!
As mentioned earlier, the reception of the first season has not been as overwhelming as other Netflix series. This makes the case of production tougher to reach. For the past three years, Netflix has been pushing the goalpost by acquiring some of the top anime banners in their name. On top of that, the company has also been working on producing original anime stories one after the other. As a result, the streamer already has its hands full for years to come. In a case like this, it becomes even more difficult to approve the production decision of an average-rated show.
Thus, it can be assumed that High Rise Invasion Season 2 is not under production for the time being. Even if the series is under the company’s eye, it might be scheduled for much later. Hence, fans can expect a wait of two years at the least to see the second season. This section will be updated in accordance with the latest updates from the studio.

Previous Season Recap!
The overall plot of the High Rise invasion involves a thrilling mystery that revolves around cloud-touching skyscrapers. Yuri is a seemingly normal young girl who lives an ordinary life. But everything around her changes when she passes by a skyscraper one day. On top of a building, she witnessed a masked man beheading another man with an ax. Since she was the only witness, the masked man began to chase her everywhere.
As the story progresses, she learns that the same is happening with other teenagers around her. Towards the end of the pilot season, Yuri’s final fight with Archangel changed the course of the entire story. By the end of their fight, God announced that they were functioning on a similar wavelength. As a result of this, she had the ability to control him. Even though their team could not save Aohara in the end. On the other side, Aikawa found that Yuri was still alive.

Thus, he made contact with Rika and asked him to take Yuri under their command.
However, Rika did not approve of the idea. As a result, Aikawa used the Angel Command over him. At this point, the pilot season ended. Now, the fate of Rika is to be acknowledged in the second season.
High Rise Invasion Season 2: Plot Details!
The plot of the second season will pick up from the point where it left in the first one. However, the story is expected to take a leap of several months before commencing a new conflict. As suggested by the original plot of the manga, the second season will begin with the arrival of the Emotionless Mask and the companions along with him. Moreover, the Prophet is also keeping a keen eye on the Sniper mask in order to aid him for his missions.
On the other side is Rika, who is still in denial of the fact that her sister played an active part in the recent war. Since she is held hostage by Aikawa, there is a high chance that he will try to manipulate him against his own sister. Later in the story, The Emotionless mask named Haori will take the Sniper mask, Yuri, and the others to the Prophet.
The Prophet will inform them about Aikawa and the high-end equipment that he possesses. However, the conversation will veer the entire story. This is because Haori Mask’s reaction over this confession will raise the suspicion that the Prophet is none other than the Emotionless Mask. With these many twists and turns, High Rise Invasion Season 2 will be packed with action and thrill. However, judging by the inconsistent pacing and adaptation of the first season, one cannot say if the second series will also follow up on a sincere adaption.

Is There Enough Source Material?
The first season of High Rise Invasion was spread across twelve episodes. Due to the stringent pacing of the season, the makers managed to cover the first 150 chapters of the manga. The series skipped through many keen details and dialogues that built character and the worlds. Nevertheless, the story was told within complete boundaries. The manga has a total of about 258 chapters in the story, which is divided into twenty-one volumes.
This means that there is more than enough material left for the makers to cover for the second season. However, if the pace of the first season is taken under consideration, it can be assumed that this material might not be enough to fill up a 12-episode requirement. But if the makers decide to slow down the pitch of the series, the story can last longer. So, to conclude, High Rise Invasion Season 2 has plenty of source material to get an adaptation from. However, after that, there might not be another season.
High Rise Invasion Season 2: What Is The Future of The Franchise?
As mentioned in the subhead above, the second season of High Rise Invasion Season 2 is most likely to use the entire source material. This leaves no room for the third season to be renewed. Even so, there are many popular series that tend to continue with the same banner under different spin-offs and reboots. For this series, author Tsuina Miura is already working on a spin-off story under the name of High Rise Invasion Arrive. The seven-volume manga tells a sideways story set in the same world.
If the reception of the second season turns better than the first one, then the chances of a return will increase. However, if this is not the case, the fans might have to say a final goodbye to the franchise. The picture will get clearer with the next release.

High Rise Invasion Season 2: Release Date
As opposed to popular belief, the return of High Rise Invasion Season 2 is not an early dream. The second season has many hurdles to cross before it gets to the animation studio. Moreover, the fact that production companies operate under tight schedules makes it even more difficult to get the date in accordance. Thus, the production of a twelve-episode season might take longer than two years. As a result, fans can expect to wait until the Summer of 2023 to get the second season of Tenku Shinpan.
