Chrollo and the others were looking forward to the next showing in the previous chapter, but when Sarasa disappeared, the event had to be postponed. Chrollo felt hopeless as he blamed himself for everything that had gone wrong. Uvo spotted a letter and a bag dangling from a tree, and the group immediately set out to find Sarasa.
After Uvo lowered the bag to the ground, Chrollo checked it out and immediately turned white. Inside the bag was a letter as well. It was Sarasa on the inside, and their shock is palpable. After that, Chrollo told Uvo to give him three years and he’d straighten everything out.
Uvo has stated that he cannot wait that long and that he will be going in search of Sarasa’s murderers. Next, Chrollo explains that it’s currently impossible for them to do so, but that he does know something that can help them, though it will take some time to learn. Then he briefed everyone on his plan, and they quickly rallied behind Chrollo as their leader. Thus, Spiders’ backstory unfolded.

- They haven’t finished checking out the ambush or secret lair yet.
- A lengthy explanation of the traps and doors is given, with all present members of the troupe giving their perspectives.
- They keep trying different doors to see what sets off the trap
- When the man they were putting through these doors vanishes, Nobunaga has an idea about what happened.
- These, he claims, are landmine-style traps.
- They bring in a second man, but he vanishes, too.
- It’s proof positive that these traps are always set.
- Feitan suggests going indoors for convenience’s sake.
- They are interrupted by the arrival of Hinrigh and Wang.
- Hinrigh has indicated his willingness to help.
- He says they can equip the man with a transmitter and communicate with their intended target.
- In order to ingest the transmitter, he transforms it into a raw oyster.
- It indicates that Hinrigh is the bait, and he has entered the trap.
- A few moments before he jumped, he begged the rest of the troupe to help him get that oyster back.
- Nobunaga thinks highly of Hinrigh because he said what needed to be said and followed through with his plan.
- It is discovered by Hinrigh that Heil-lair ly’s is deserted.
- So, Nobunaga follows suit and joins the trap, too.
- Now they proceed to the next room.
- The wall is protected by Nen, and Nobunaga tries to cut it down.
- They have no idea what is happening and are learning by trial and error at this point.
- At the end of the chapter, they go through the final door together.
