Ikebukuro West Gate Park TV Anime Announces October 6 Release

The highly anticipated anime adaption of the hit mystery series, Ikebukuro West Gate Park, has released a brand new trailer and official release date. It’s going to be released on October 6!

The anime’s premiere had been delayed to October due to the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) that halted production. The anime was previously scheduled to premiere in July.

The series will premiere on the premium channel AT-X on October 6 at 9:00 p.m.

It will then stream on Amazon Prime before it runs on over-the-air broadcast television, premiering on October 6 at about 24:15.

It will then air on Tokyo MX on October 6 at 24:30, and it will also run the Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and BS11 channels.

A tense new trailer has also come out.

This upcoming TV anime based on the series of urban mystery novels written by Ira Ishida about a young man who acts as a mediator between rival street gangs in his home town in modern Tokyo.

It is set in Tokyo’s Ikebukuro ward, in the eponymous Ikebukuro West Gate Park.

The story centers on Makoto Majima, the son of a local fruit vendor, and known as the “Troubleshooter of Ikebukuro.”

He helps everyone from his friends to local street toughs in solving various incidents.

The gangland tension is firing in the preview released.

THE PINBALLS have performed the opening theme song, “Needle Knot,” and INNOSENT in FORMAL have performed the ending theme “after song.”

Ishida published the 15th Ikebukuro West Gate Park novel volume on September 12.

The series inspired a popular live-action television series in 2000 and a live-action special titled Ikebukuro West Gate Park Soup no Kai in 2003.

Sena Aritou serialized a manga adaptation in Akita Shoten’s Young Champion magazine from 2001 to 2004, and it received four volumes.

The anime’s cast includes Kentarō Kumagai as Makoto, Kouki Uchiyama as Takashi, and Reiō Tsuchida as Kyōichi.

Tomoaki Koshida is directing the anime at Doga Kobo. Fumihiko Shimo is in charge of series composition. Junichirō Taniguchi is designing the characters.

Ikebukuro West Gate Park will also be simulcast in the United States by Funimation.

Ikebukuro West Gate Park anime is adapted from the novel series by Ira Ishida.

The anime focuses on 20 years old Makoto Majima, who lives near Ikebukuro West Gate Park. He gets involved in dangerous situations to save his friends and people who ask for his help.

He is called the “troubleshooter of Ikebukuro.” This peacekeeper has to get involved in a troublesome case that has shaken the calm of the city.
