Inuyasha’s Sequel Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon Anime Unveils OP

The popular and beloved Inuyasha anime series now has a sequel, titled “Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon”. The series is being produced by Sunrise Studio and is set to debut on October 3rd, 2020.

According to Viz Media’s official Twitter account, the opening theme song for the Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon series is “New Era”, performed by SixTones.

SixTones is a Japanese idol boy band that made their recent and official debut on January 22nd, 2020. Within such a short period, the band has already won noteworthy certifications for their music.

The band also sang the opening theme song “Navigator” for the anime series “The Millionaire Detective Balance: Unlimited” which was an instant hit with fans and received a three-time platinum certification.

The OP “Navigator” is an upbeat pop song that perfectly sets the mood for its series.

Inuyasha’s sequel is set in Feudal Japan and focuses on the daughters of Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru.

Sesshoumaru’s Half-Demon twins Towa and Setsuna get separated in a forest fire and Towa ends up in present-day Japan where she is raised by Kagome’s brother, Sota Higurashi, and his family.

Meanwhile, Setsuna grows up to become a Demon Slayer and works for Kohaku.

Ten years later, Towa and Setsuna meet again as the mysterious time-traveling tunnel opens up once more. However, to Towa’s surprise, Setsuna does not recollect any memories of her older twin.

The newly reunited twins are joined by Inuyasha and Kagome’s daughter, Moroha.

The story follows the adventures of these three characters as they travel through time to learn about their missing past.

The much-awaited Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon series is being directed by Inuyasha’s director Teruo Sato with the original creator Takahashi herself working on the anime’s character designs.

About Inuyasha

The series begins with a 15-year-old Kagome, from modern-day Japan, who is transported to a parallel world of the Sengoku period after falling into a well. Where she meets the half-dog demon Inuyasha.

A monster from the era tries to take the magical Shikon Jewel embodied in Kagome.

She shatters the Jewel into many pieces, which get scattered across Japan. Inuyasha and Kagome then set out on a quest to recover the jewel.
