Invincible: Animated Show From Walking Dead Creator Coming Soon
Mark Grayson, aka Invincible, the most famous superhero from the Image Comics, is getting his own series on Amazon Prime. Amazon revealed in the New York Comic-Con that Invincible will be adapted into an animated show from the comics written by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman. The streaming giant also shared a trailer for the series during the conference.
Invincible will have eight episodes, each an hour long. The show revolves around a 17-year-old boy called Mark Grayson, who has superstrength and the ability to fly. Invincible will be voiced by Stephen Yeun, who played Glenn Rhee in Kirkman’s show The Walking Dead. J.K Simmons, Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen and Mark Hamill are also lending their voices to the show.
If the series stays faithful to its source material, which the creators have promised to do, it will be a delight for comic book fans and fans of adult animation. Unlike Marvel and DC, Image Comics have little to no rules regarding creative freedom.
The Image Comics allows their writers to be explicit and Robert Kirkman takes full advantage of it. He has a knack for creating characters and situations that will engage, capture and horrify. Invincible can be expected to have the same intensity of blood and gore that the viewers saw in The Walking Dead.
Apart from the gore, Image Comics also has some of the most ambitious action scenes in comic book history. The showrunners have said that the series will feature these amazing action scenes.

About Invincible
Mark Grayson is just a regular 17-year-old guy but his father, Omni-Man, is the world’s most powerful superhero. As he begins to develop his own powers of superstrength and flying, he realizes that his father might not be the man that he thought he was.
Invincible is adapted from the Image Comic series of the same name written by Robert Kirkman and illustrated by Ryan Ottley and Cory Walker. The first self-titled Invincible comic came out in 2003 and continued for over ten years. The last book, issue #144, came out in 2018.
