Is Chainsaw Man getting canceled? What is the reason?
Chainsaw Man anime debuted worldwide on October 12, 2022, and instantly broke the internet. Given how the series was top-rated even as a manga, the anime is expected to get such feedback.
However, being popular also means facing baseless rumors that people end up believing. Similarly, news spread among netizens that the series would stop broadcasting in the United States, which worried the fans.
Rest assured, Chainsaw Man anime is not getting canceled and will continue to air regularly.
While we can’t pinpoint the source or reason for the fake news, there are some instances that might have caused people to believe it.
The first is this tweet by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission referencing the anime. This post ended up gathering the attention of the entire otaku community and the curiosity of others.
The tweet was meant to be an informative post disguised as a harmless joke. For obvious reasons, a man made of chainsaws will be seen as a dangerous entity, and the government agency wanted to share some safety tips while using a chainsaw.
Moreover, the agency’s hilarious take on the protagonist Denji and his pet Pochita led people to believe that the government might ban the anime. I mean, it is pretty understandable, considering how graphic the show is and why it is intended for audiences who are 17+ in age.
Moving on, the second reason the show might get canceled is due to the age-gap relationship between Makima and Denji.
Denji is shown to be 16 years old at the start of the story, while Makima appears to be a woman in her mid-20s. Given how Makima convinces Denji to work for her by giving him perverted incentives, it didn’t sit well with the U.S. audience, who thought of it as predatory.
While there is no sexual contact between the two, the show does emphasize such a relationship in some scenes. Fans of the series might know the truth, but someone oblivious to the story will obviously think of it as wrong.
Such a reason might lead to the show getting ‘canceled’ on social media but not in reality.
Power Joins the Hayakawa Household in Chainsaw Man Episode 4
End of the story, Chainsaw Man is not getting canceled, especially after receiving a great response and viewership worldwide.
So, until and unless an official and trusted source confirms such a rumor, please do not believe them even for a second.
