With the recent rampage of Maki Zenin already behind us and the upcoming culling games just around the corner, Jujutsu Kaisen is taking us places. However, with so many characters either dead or sealed off, it feels like people are falling like leaves.

Speaking of dead people, the recent one to join the list is none other than Naoya Zenin, the self-proclaimed head of the Zenin clan.

After being stomped to death by Maki in the previous chapter, “Perfect Preparation, Part 4.” The latest chapter revealed that Naoya crawled out of the rubble to safety. However, just when he was celebrating, he was backstabbed by someone.

Taking a few steps back in the chapter, after Maki seemingly beat Naoya, she goes to her mother and slits her throat. However, just like Naoya, Maki’s mother is not dead but makes her way to the celebrating Naoya and stabs him in the back.

Before her actual death, Maki and Mai’s mother thinks back about her twin daughters and confesses that she was happy to give birth to them (so lovely, good parenting here, folks). 

After Maki’s rampage, 6 Hei and 21 Kukuru members, along with almost all significant members of Zenin house, were declared dead, which led to the Komo and Gojo clan proposing to the Jujutsu HQ that the Zenin clan cannot be considered one of the three great houses. 

With her vow complete, Maki now moves on to Culling games. However, is that all?

Is Naoya genuinely dead?

It is not that hard to believe that the Zenin clan, which has a history of dealing with renegades like Toji, would develop some backup plan. Even though most Zenins are dead, reincarnation is fair game in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Dead people don’t remain dead for long, and with the upcoming arcs losing one of the significant clans is a setback higher-up in Jujutsu HQ cannot swallow. 

Just like how Toji reincarnated by possessing the body of someone, Naoya Zenin too can make a comeback in the upcoming arc to be used against Maki and Megumi.

Jujutsu Kaisen Going on Hiatus?

In the latest chapter, the editorial team has announced that due to underlying medical conditions of mangaka Akutami Gege. Jujutsu Kaisen will go on a one-month hiatus starting this week. 

According to Mr. Akutami, he has not suffered from any major medical condition, and his mental health is also normal. So, there is nothing for the fans to worry about regarding his health.

Hopefully, the one-month break will give the mangaka enough time to focus on himself and regain his health. As for the Jujutsu Kaisen community, the fandom seems to be very understanding of the circumstances.

With one month of free time ahead of us, this is a perfect opportunity to catch up with Kaisen!
