Japan Sinks: 2020 Gets A Theatrical Edit Film In November

A Tumblr post by Japan Sinks: 2020 announced that the anime will be released once again, but this time as an anime film. The film will be a collection of edited and compiled parts from the anime with added elements
The upcoming Japan Sinks movie will be released on 13th November 2020.
The creators of Japan Sinks anime have released a visual for the theatrical edit film.
The visual contains a stunning view of Japan from overhead. Even though the landmass has been mostly covered by water, the sun rays gleam through the cloud, showing hope for the survivors. Kite and his paramotor can be seen in the sky.
The ten episodes of Japan Sinks: 2020 anime premiered on Netflix on 9th July 2020.

Masaaki Yuasa, the director of Japan Sinks: 2020, has received mixed reviews about the anime and wishes to clear all the misgivings, once and for all.
As the anime’s distribution had started, Japan Sinks was severely criticized and many viewers have not been able to connect with it or see it under the intended light.
According to Yuasa, the anime contains several hurdles that the audience has not been able to overcome yet.

About Japan Sinks: 2020
Japan Sinks or Nihon Chinbotsu is a disaster novel written by Sakyo Komatsu; he worked on it for nine years. There’s also a sequel to the story which was published in 2006, talk of a third one is currently ongoing. Kodansha published the novel.
Based on the novel, a film by Shiro Moritani was released in 1973 only. It was also adapted as a television show in 1975, a remake in 2006, and now an ONA (original net animation) in 2020 by Netflix.
The anime focuses on the events of a major earthquake that hits Japan shortly after the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
Ayumu and Gou, siblings of the Mutoh household, begin to run with their parents far away from the unexpected chaos.
In the face of this dreadful reality, the Mutoh family tries to understand things, stick together, support, and care for each other in these disastrous times.
