The Jujutsu Kaisen manga will be going on a one-month hiatus. Gege Akutami has been struggling with his physical health for quite some time, and now it seems like there is no way around a sufficient break.

However, it is still a tentative time period and may extend in case the author hasn’t recovered yet. The hiatus will be in effect from the very next issue, which means that Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 153 will not be available for at least a month.

The mangaka has further clarified that he can no longer take a small break like other mangakas and expect to recover. If no serious step is taken, the breaks would be repeated more and more often in the future. Thus the hiatus is for the future welfare of the manga too.

This is not the first time that Gege Akutami’s health has interfered with the manga release. In fact, some sketchy details of chapter 150 had sparked off concern among fans as they were all praying that the mangaka doesn’t overwork.

He has also soothed fans by mentioning that his mental health is completely fine.

On the brighter side, a brand-new Jujutsu Kaisen mobile game has just been revealed! The game is titled “Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Pride” and will be officially announced in Weekly Shonen Jump’s issue 28.

As for now, chapter 152’s release date is close at hand, and we can’t wait to find out more about Maki’s current circumstances. Chapter 153’s release will be far, but we would rather wait for one month than risk the whole series’ and the mangaka’s future
