It’s Jujutsu Kaisen. Oh yes, at the 5th Crunchyroll awards, which has a great panel of judges alongside fan votes, Jujutsu Kaisen became one of the kings.
That’s not all – Sukuna won the ‘Best Antagonist’ award and the ending song also won an award. How amazing is that?
With hundreds of cosplayers dressing up as Gojo Sensei, Jujutsu Kaisen has proved its influence. Everyone loves it – it is one of those series with little to no haters. Unfortunately, the first season of the anime has finally come to an end with its 24th episode.
With the end approaching us like a freight train, it is time for us to sit down and discuss the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 airing date.
Jujutsu Kaisen second season announcement is sure to get more attention than the Tower Of God Season 2 and God of High School Season 2.
A series like this already has a lot of fans. Surely the industry is not going to deny them from another season. MAPPA has outdone themselves and we are pretty sure that this venture will earn them a lot of money.
Today we share the JJK Season 2 release and airing date announcement as well as the number of episodes and how many manga chapters it will cover.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Announcement:
The first season hasn’t ended yet – we have a month left. So obviously there is no announcement yet – but worry not, a series so popular must have a new season.
Let us look at the conditions and judge for ourselves if Jujutsu Kaisen will get renewed for a second season.
An anime’s basic purpose is to boost the sales for the manga. Jujutsu Kaisen anime has outdone itself and now, the manga sales are very high.
It is no Demon Slayer but the manga managed to bring multiple volumes to the top 10 bestselling manga for the last couple of months.
Oh yes, from 600k in 2018, the series is currently at 30 million in 2021. The numbers can only go upwards!
With amazing popularity and sales, there is only 1 condition left – source material. As of now, Jujutsu Kaisen has almost 150 chapters. Season 1 has 24 episodes and we expect it to cover up to around chapter 75.
But it will probably be up to chapter 64 or 65, ending Death Painting Arc. That leaves just two arcs for Jujutsu Kaisen Second season and that is not enough.
Unless Season 2 is 12 episode long, or has split cours, it does not have enough material, just like the upcoming One Punch Man Season 3.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Release Date :
It will be a while before any news regarding the second season comes out.
We believe the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will be announced in 2022 when there is plenty of manga chapters to adapt freely.
Right now, we have no actual news of a release date. But we do expect Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 to release around July 2022.
Of course, the Shibuya Incident arc will be the prime attraction. We can also take a look into Gojo’s past – Gojo has been compared to the likes of Kakashi, Yami and Shanks – so fans will definitely love it.
As usual, we expect JJK Season 2 to have a 24 episode run, just like the first season.
TOHO Animation, dugout and Shueisha will probably return as the producers. And we sincerely hope that Studio MAPPA returns to handle it.
Despite having AoT on their hands, MAPPA has done a splendid job with this series. Also, maybe Crunchyroll or Funimation will license the series.
Maybe MAPPA will announce Chainsaw Man Anime soon too.
Jujutsu Kaisen Anime Premise
Jujutsu Kaisen takes us to a world where all beings emit a cursed energy – both from negative emotions.
This leads to deadly beings called Curses. Jujutsu Sorcerers are skilled users of Cursed Energy, who exorcise these Curses. In the midst of this lands Yuji Itadori, our protagonist.
Circumstances arise, and Yuji has to eat a cursed finger to save his friends, thus making him host to Sukuna, a deadly curse. All sorcerers want to kill Sukuna; hence Yuji must be put to death!
However, Gojo delays Yuji’s sentence and takes him to Jujutsu High School. Yuji will eat all the fingers, allowing the sorcerers to have a shot at killing Sukuna forever!
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Spoilers:
As we said, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will probably end with the death painting arc and start with the Gojo Flashback arc. This arc goes back to when Gojo was a second year. His best friend was Suguru Geto. This story tells us about the rise of Geto and his descent into darkness.
Followed by that, we reach the ongoing arc – the Shibuya Incident.
This is the arc without the presence of Geto and it follows one of the best storylines out there. We get amazing fights, which flesh out both the hero and the villain!
