Will Satoru Gojo get sealed? Will Sukuna finally unleash his wrath? Who will survive? All these questions will remain unanswered until Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 releases.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s first season concluded with Aoi Todo and Mei Mei recommending Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushigoro, Nobara Kugisaki, Maki Zenin, and Panda to be promoted to Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer.
On the other hand, Suguru Geto is scheming to seal Satoru Gojo on 31st October in Shibuya. With so many things yet to be animated, fans are nothing but restless awaiting Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2’s official announcement.
Considering the massive success of the first season, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is just an announcement away from getting an anime adaptation.
That success was followed by the immediate announcement of the Jujutsu Kaisen Movie after the conclusion of the first season’s final episode. The movie will act as the prequel to the current Jujutsu Kaisen universe starring Yuta Okkotsu and Rika Orimoto.
So, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 might already be in the planning stages, who knows?
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Release Date:
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will be released in October 2022 (Fall 2022) at the earliest or within the first half of 2023.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Plot (Spoilers):
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will most probably adapt two arcs of the manga with a total of 73 chapters ( Ch. 64 – Ch. 136). Chapter 64 is a solo chapter with a breather in between the arcs.
Gojo’s Past Arc (65-79)
In this arc, Satoru Gojo’s past will be shown including his friendship with Suguru Geto before he went rogue. This arc will also introduce the much-awaited Toji Fushiguro, father of Megumi Fushiguro. Toji will be seen as an assassin who will become a threat to Satoru Gojo.
Shibuya Incident Arc (79-136)
In this arc, Suguru Geto will finally begin his plans of sealing Satoru Gojo by trapping the civilians within a curtain, with each of them begging to bring Satoru Gojo. Many sorcerers are sent to assess the mystery behind the curtain.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode Count:
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will have 24 episodes which will adapt 73 chapters from Ch. 64 to Ch. 136.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 adapted 63 chapters in 24 episodes which on average is 2.6 chapters per episode.
Considering that, adapting 3 chapters per episode for Season 2 shouldn’t be a problem.
Otherwise, they can also divide the second season into two cours of 13 episodes each, to get 2 extra episodes.
Name of the Arc | No. of chapters | No. of episodes (approx.) |
Gojo’s Past Arc | 15 | 5 |
Shibuya Incident Arc | 58 | 19 |
Staff & Cast:
The cast from the previous season will reprise their roles while the voice actors for the new characters are yet to be announced.
Looking at how consistent Jujutsu Kaisen was in every aspect, be it animation or series composition, the staff from the previous season should reprise their role for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Studio:
MAPPA will animate Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, as the first season was nothing less than a gem in terms of animation quality. But it will take time for MAPPA to animate Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 as they have their hands full right now.
Idaten Deities in the Peaceful Generation will be released in July 2021, while Re-Main will release in 2021, either in July or October.
Chainsaw Man’s trailer will be released on 27th June by MAPPA, which means it could release either in October 2021 or January 2022.
On the other hand, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Movie is scheduled to release in Winter .i.e. either December 2021 or January 2022. And in January 2022 the much-awaited Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 is set to release. While the release of Yuri!! on Ice movie is still a mystery.
Considering all those releases, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 might get released in October 2022 at the earliest or in the first half of 2023.
Conclusion:
Though we all want Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 as soon as possible, we should also think about the animators who are animating day and night, mostly without sleep, to deliver us so many projects within a year considering the dire state of the world.
But there’s nothing to worry about, as MAPPA will make sure to deliver the much-awaited Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen anime within the first half of 2023.
