Kaguya Sama: Love is War : Relationship between Kaguya and Miyuki

Kaguya and Miyuki are the two protagonists of the anime series Kaguya-Sama: Love is War. The pair has become a favourite of the fans as they are perfectly destined to be. In this article, we will explore the romantic tension between the two.

The TV series is an adaptation of the manga series by Aka Akasaka. As of November 2020, the manga has sold over 13 million copies. The makers have given two seasons so far. And the production of the third season has been announced.

The series follows the story of Kaguya and Miyuki, two high school students who fancy each other. However, they are too proud to confess their love. As the story progresses, they finally admit their affections for each other.

Miyuki is a second year high school student at Shuchiin Academy and the president of the Student Council. Despite his underprivileged background, he is diligent and is the top student at their school. However, he is talentless in other activities such as sports, singing, dancing. But, he strives to perfect these flaws.

Kaguya, also a student at Shuchiin Academy and the Vice-president of the Student Council. She cares for the members of the student council and treasures them. Kaguya is the daughter of a wealthy conglomerate family, and has a poor habit of turning to money to solve her problems.

Kaguya and Miyuki: Why are they perfect for each other?

First of all, the fact that both are two successful students prove their sheer determination and endeavour to achieve. Though their economic backgrounds are not on equal footing, they work at the same pace. They also have an equal sense of responsibility as they wholeheartedly work to serve their school. 

Kaguya has lived a rather reserved and isolated life, so she never gets to experience a homely atmosphere. The missing piece of her life is filled when Miyuki comes into her life. Although Miyuki’s lunch isn’t as fancy as hers, Kaguya craves for it because she feels it has much more love in it.

Since Kaguya’s family is very strict and prevents her from social gatherings, she finds it hard to connect with people. However, Miyuki becomes the special person who she gets to really connect with. She starts understanding what affection feels like.
