Kaiji Anime’s English Dub Reveals Cast and November 28 Debut
On November 21, the streaming service HIDIVE revealed that the English dub for the Kaiji television anime series would debut along with the first nine episodes on November 28. The streaming service also announced the cast list.
The Kaiji anime is based on the manga series by Nobuyuki Fukumoto. The plot of Kaiji revolves around its eponymous protagonist, a social misfit, and a gambler. When his friend defaults on a debt he co-signed, he is forced to repay the Yakuza millions of yen.
This leads to him being taken to a mysterious casino ship where he could win his life back by gambling with other passengers or potentially losing their freedom.

The English dub is being directed by Kyle Colby Jones, who will also co-write the script with Marta Bechtol. Jonathan Rodriguez and Matt Wittmeyer are slated to be the sound engineers, with Brent Marshall being in charge of mix and sound design.
The Kaiji manga has inspired two television anime series, three Japanese live-action films, a Chinese live-action film, and a reality game show as well.
About Kaiji
Kaiji is an anime based off of the Japanese manga of the same name, written and illustrated by Nobuyuki Fukumoto. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Magazine since February 1996.
The anime’s plot revolves around the eponymous protagonist who is a social misfit and has a gambling addiction. When his friend defaults on debt payment that was co-signed by him, the protagonist is forced to participate in a gambling game where his life may be at stake.
The English dub of the anime is set to release on November 28 on HDIVE.
