In the present, Hoshina gets up again to fight the Humanoid Kaiju and uses all his sword techniques but even after all this, he was unable to win as the humanoid kaiju was able to predict his movements. Then Hoshina has a flashback when he met Mina for the first time. Mina was the only person who recognized Hoshina’s talent and asked him to join his unit.

After watching that Vice commander Hoshina was unable to fight back, Kafka decided to transform into his kaiju form, but Mina arrives at the scene and saves Hoshina. The chapter ends with Mina preparing to fight against the humanoid kaiju.
