Kakegurui: Ultimate Russian Roulette Teases 2 Mins Of The Film’s Beginning

A school where your status is determined by your gambling skills and how much you are willing to put at stake to win – Kakegurui is a show made for people who are crazy enough to take big risks if it means they will be at the top.

This is the type of anime that will glue your eyes to your screen, and make you sit on the edge of your chair anticipating the next move.

Kakegurui: Ultimate Russian Roulette released a new video that includes a special message from cast member Ryūsei Fujii and teases the first 2 minutes of the film.

The video starts with Fujii’s message to the viewers in which he describes the antagonist he plays, Makuro Shikigami. He sketches him out as the ‘worst man/antagonist ever.’

After that, Fujii jokingly mentions that he is a very good person, though. Then he goes on to say that the upcoming scene in the video is very tense.

He also mentions that he has played the role to his heart’s content and hopes that fans will love his work.

The second part of the video features Ryūsei Fujii as Makuro Shikigami playing an intense game of gambling against Itsuki Sumeragi, played by Ruka Matsuda.

The scene shows Sumeragi losing all of her money and asking Shikigami to stop, which he doesn’t and he continues to torment her. In the end, he asks her about Yumeko Jabami and where he can find her.

The scene legit gave me goosebumps, and Fujii’s maniacal acting to fit the role is just right!

The movie was initially slated for an April 2021 debut but got delayed till May 12th due to the Third State of Emergency in Japan. It then again got delayed due to the extended Fourth State of Emergency and was finalized to release on June 1st. 

The first two minutes of the movie, which were released, got me really excited for the rest of the movie. 

Will Yumeko Jabami die? Will she be able to beat the psychopath Shikigami? Is there something even worse waiting for the students of Hyakkaoh Academy?  

We will have to watch the movie to know that, so, what are you waiting for? The movie is already out. Go watch it!

Kakegurui is an anime based on a manga of the same name written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura. It is directed by Yuichiro Hayashi and is animated by MAPPA.
