Brzrkr—a comic whose creator will star in its adaptation— and whose initial reception has been such that the creator-slash-actor Keanu Reeves is already preparing his double jump to Netflix.
We will be getting two projects that will expand this comic book universe, that the actor will star in and produce. First we will see a live-action movie that will serve as an adaptation of the story. Then, an anime will be made that will explore various aspects of history and this universe with Reeves providing the voice of the protagonist.
Exciting news! Netflix is developing a live action film AND follow-up anime series based on Keanu Reeves’ BRZRKR, a brutally epic saga about an immortal warrior’s 80,000 year fight through the ages. Reeves will produce and star in the film, and voice the anime. pic.twitter.com/RVWEuBCXTJ

Co-written by Reeves and award-winning comic book writer Matt Kindt, ‘Brzrkr’ story stars an immortal warrior known only as B. After wandering the Earth for a millennia, B finds himself working for the United States government fighting the most violent and dangerous battles in exchange for being able to discover the truth about his existence and how to end it. Ron Garney, who has worked on The Amazing Spider-Man, Silver Surfer, Hulk, and Daredevil, is the illustrator.
The comic is published in the United States by BOOM! , who has a “first look” deal with Netflix for potential adaptations of his comics. After a small delay, the first issue came out on March 3 and, according to its publisher Ross Richie, has reached 615,000 copies sold.
There is, at the moment, no more information on this double adaptation on Netflix. From BOOM! Studios, Ross Richie and Stephen Christy will produce alongside Reeves and Stephen Hamel for Company Films. Adam Yoelin will serve as executive producer.
