A Special Arc by Ken Wakui Will Be Published for Tokyo Revengers

In March 2017, Tokyo Revengers got off to a strong start, and now, nearly five years later, the manga is coming to an end. Even among fans of anime alone, the series’ conclusion is eagerly anticipated due to how well-liked it is.

In the most recent chapter 277, Takemichi uses his time-traveling abilities to put an end to everything and save everyone. The manga will come to a happy and wholesome conclusion with chapter 278 next week.

Knowing Wakui, we all wonder if there is more to the manga.

That question has a resounding “yes,” as Ken Wakui is putting his best effort into a new special arc for Tokyo Revengers. In November 2023, a sizable exhibition in Roppongi, Tokyo, will debut this unnamed storyline.

The new arc will follow the “Tokyo Revengers Extra” chapter, which will start the following week. This new plotline need not result in a lengthy narrative; it could simply be an extra chapter or epilogue.

The fact that this new, unnamed story will still be relevant a year after the conclusion bothers me.

The manga has already received a lot of criticism since the start of its final arc, to start. The manga has reached its saturation point, and fans have realized that Wakui is just overextending it.

Wakui bringing in another special arc seems like a bad idea in light of this. At the same time, if this plot is compelling enough, it might alter people’s unfavorable opinions of it.

Wakui has already provided us with much-needed closure regarding the plot, so ruining it would only invite more criticism.

Takemichi and Mickey have already saved everyone, as we saw in chapter 277, and the future is full of joy. It would be surprising and thrilling, but also a grave error, to alter such a satisfying conclusion in which all of our favorite characters are still alive.

The final chapter of Tokyo Revengers, which will feature the most eagerly anticipated wedding of the series, will be published next week on November 16. Additionally, the possibility that the entire cast will be present will only heighten the emotional impact of Takemichi and Hinata’s wedding.

I hope Wakui has something much better prepared to make up for it if he intends to break people’s hearts by altering this perfect ending.

About Tokyo Revengers

Ken Wakui is the author and illustrator of the manga Tokyo Revengers. On March 1st, 2017, it started running as a serial in Kodansha’s Weekly Shnen Magazine. On May 15, the ongoing manga’s 17th collected book volume was released.

Takemichi Hanagaki is the protagonist of the tale, who discovered that the only ex-girlfriend he had from middle school had been murdered by the Tokyo Manji Gang. Takemichi was pushed off the train platform after hearing about the incident.

He closed his eyes after landing on the tracks and accepted his death; however, when he opened them, he had traveled back in time 12 years.
