Knights of Sidonia’s Anime Film Reveals New Trailer and May Premiere
Set in the far-off future, Knights of Sidonia exhibits a space-action oriented plot. A new film for the anime series will premiere soon!
Nagate Tanikaze has lived a solitary life in the underground layer of a massive starship, Sidonia. He trains himself to fly Gardes, and when he emerges to the surface area, he is recruited to become a Garde pilot.
Gauna, an alien species who are a threat to mankind, have started attacking and Nagate soon finds himself saving the human populace.
The anime film’s official website reveals that Knights of Sidonia: The Star Where Love is Spun will premiere on 14th May. A new trailer was released for the upcoming film.
The anime film exhibits a new story arc that is not included in the manga series. Ten years have passed since the last attack by the Gauna. It was successfully deflected by the efforts of Nagate Tanikaze, who is now a hero.
However, Captain Kobayashi knows that as long as the Gauna exist, there will be more attacks in the future. After a decade of fleeting peace, the final battle is decided. The residents of Sidonia have to fight to protect their loved ones.

The staff and cast members from the Knights of Sidonia anime series will reprise their roles in the movie. The anime series currently has two seasons which were released in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
About Knights of Sidonia
Knights of Sidonia is a sci-fi mecha series by Tsutomu Nihei’ that began serialization in Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine from April 25, 2009, and concluded on September 25, 2015, spanning over 15 compiled volumes.
The story is set a thousand years into the future, where Earth has been destroyed by powerful aliens known as Gauna. Mankin now resides in giant spaceships continually being targeted by the strange creatures.
By piloting mobile weapon units called “Gardes,” humanity can protect itself by destroying their cores, preventing the monsters from regenerating their protective shell of the placenta.
Within the space ship Sidonia, a boy named Nagate Tanikaze surfaces for the first time in his life, with an incredible amount of time clocked into pilot simulators during his isolation.
He quickly proves to be an indispensable asset to humanity’s defense force piloting the legendary Garde Tsugumori. He fights to protect Sidonia from a grim demise.
