‘Lookism’ Anime will be Available on Netflix From December 8
The anime adaptation of the South Korean webtoon Lookism has received a new premiere date of December 8. The Netflix-exclusive series was previously scheduled to release on November 4, had to be delayed.
The premiere was postponed in light of the tragic incident that took place on October 29 in the Itaewon district of Seoul, where a Halloween stampede claimed the lives of 158 people and left several more injured.
The change in the release date was announced as South Korea was in a national mourning period following the awful loss.
The anime is based on the webtoon written and illustrated by Park Tae-joon. The series’ story deals with the subtle lookism and materialism present in the lives of people living in modern society. The anime will be animated by Studio Mir and distributed by Netflix.
Netflix also released a new trailer for the anime featuring the song “Like That” by ATEEZ.
The cast members for the anime include:
Voice Actor | Character |
Shim Kyu Hyuck | Park Hyung Suk |
Jeong Jae Heon | Vasco |
Nam Doh Hyeong | Jin Ho Bin |
Hwang Chang Yung | Pyeon Duk Hwa |
Sa Moon Young | Park Ha Neul |
Ryu Seung Gone | Lee Jin Sung |
The webtoon was first published on Naver Webtoon in November 2014 and is currently in its 19th volume. The webtoon has garnered much praise and acclaim for exploring themes such as bullying, body positivity, and self-acceptance.
