Lupin the Third’s Special 50th Anniversary YouTube Screening Delayed
It’s weird to think that Lupin the Third made its anime debut back in 1971, and we are still enjoying it to this day. Part 6 of the anime is already underway and commemorates its 50th anniversary.
TMS Entertainment, formerly known as Tokyo Movie Shinsha, has been involved with the production of the anime since its beginning. So, it was natural for them to do something special for the 50th anniversary.
They had scheduled the global premiere of the first English-dubbed episode of Lupin the Third on October 24, 2021, on their official YouTube channel. Sadly, that will have to wait.
TMS Entertainment has postponed the YouTube screening of Lupin the Third Part 1’s first episode until further notice. The reason for the postponement is stated as scheduling conflicts.
It is natural to wonder why an online screening of a pre-recorded episode will have any scheduling issues, but the delay seems to have nothing to do with the episode itself.
Richard Epcar, the director of the English dub and voice actor of Daisuke Jigen, was scheduled to host the screening. Maybe, his schedule is the source of the conflict.
TMS Entertainment was also scheduled to screen the first two episodes from the latest anime from October 22 to October 28, 2021, in select US theaters. This event seems to be still on without any delay.
Lupin the Third Theatrical Engagement for October Brings 50 Year Nostalgia
Although the screening might be delayed, Lupin the Third Part 6 is out right now. So, you can get your weekly Lupin fix as the master thief takes on Sherlock Holmes himself.
