Editorial Shogakukan revealed on Friday that the Dance Dance Danseur manga will be getting an anime adaptation. This story by George Asakura will make the leap to this format in the form of an anime television series, although at the moment there is no scheduled date for it. More details about this Dance Dance Danseur project are expected to be revealed soon.
With this Dance Dance Danseur anime, it will be Asakura’s first work to be adapted into anime, although other works by this mangaka have already been adapted to other media. The Koibumi Biyori manga was made into a film as a live-action film in 2004, while in 2013 it also received a live-action television series. He would then return to the big screen in 2015 with the film Piece of Cake, which adapts the manga of the same title, while the following year, in 2016, he would return to theaters with the film Oboreru Knife.
George Asakura began publishing in 2015 the manga Dance Dance Danseur on the pages of the magazine Big Comic Spirits of Shogakukan. The ballet-centered comic is still ongoing, with 19 compiled volumes so far. The 20th volume will go on sale in Japanese bookstores on Monday, 12th April.
