MAPPA has been mass-producing original anime for a while now. And original sports anime has been a yearly occurrence, be it Yuri!! on Ice or Taiso Samurai, the studio doesn’t shy away from creating original sports anime which are not mainstream like Gymnastic or Ice-skating.
MAPPA’s original sports anime RE-MAIN will be released on July 4, 2021. The Water-Polo anime will air on TV Asahi’s NUManimation block at 1:30 AM in Japan.
A New Key Visual has been revealed along with additional staff and cast members of the water-polo anime, RE-MAIN.
In the visual we can see, Minato, Eitarou, Jou, Takekazu, Yutaka Babayaro, Yoshiharu and Shuugo.

Plot:
In the third year of junior high school, Minato Kiyomizu quit playing water polo after a certain incident. Upon entering the high school, he joins the school’s water polo team with a promise to resume playing water polo again. Along the way, he is faced with problems that he has to overcome to play water polo.
Conclusion:
With MAPPA doing an original, and that too a sports anime, rest assured that it will be fun. Because MAPPA’s originals dive deep into the personal life of the sportsperson more than the sports itself creating a different kind of sports anime that is relaxing and fun at the same time.
And RE-MAIN should replicate the same atmosphere when it releases on 4th July 2021. Also, this clears the Fall (October) 2021 slot for MAPPA which means we can get to see Chainsaw Man as early as October this year.
