Meet Gundam’s First Female MC Suletta Mercury in ‘The Witch From Mercury’
Gundam is a franchise that doesn’t need an introduction. The franchise has made a name for itself through generations with a plethora of manga, series, movies, and games.
But even after so much, the franchise never had a female protagonist until recently. Last year, Gundam surprised fans with its first anime series in seven years.
It is a special one as Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury will feature the franchise’s first-ever female protagonist, Suletta Mercury.
The franchise has finally revealed all the details regarding Suletta and other characters for the anime that will be released in October 2022.

The visual revealed on the series’ official website features Suletta with Gundam Ariel. Suletta is a second-year transfer student from Mercury in the piloting department. She pilots the Gundam Ariel, which was also developed on Mercury.
Since all good stories need a background, Gundam has also confirmed that the anime’s prequel ‘Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Prologue’ will debut on July 14.
The prequel’s teaser features Suletta and Ariel as a hair-raising and dramatic tune plays in the background.

The website says the story is set in a capitalist era where many corporations have entered space and built a vast economic system. Suletta transfers to the Asticassia School of Technology, run by the Beneritt Group, from Mercury and navigates her way in this new world.
More characters feature Miorine Rembran, another second-year from the management strategy department who’s a beauty with brains because of her looks and impressive academic record.
She’s also the only daughter of the school’s chairman and president of the Beneritt Group, Delling Rembran.
Guel Jeturk is Suletta’s senior from the piloting department and heir to the Jeturk Heavy Machinery. He’s an ace pilot and maneuvers the Gundam Dilanza.
Dilanza is a fairly short but loaded purple-colored Gundam with a spear as its primary weapon.
Next is Elan Ceres, another third-year and Guel’s classmate. Ceres is a top pilot of his grade and keeps to himself most of the time but shows some interest in Suletta.
Elan pilots the Gundam Pharact, a dark-colored and sharp-looking mecha with a sniper-like gun as its primary weapon.
Last but not least is one more third-year student, Shaddiq Zenelli, from the piloting department. He’s the adopted son of a CEO and next in line to take over.
Shaddiq pilots the white and violet-colored Gundam Michaelis, which has blaster arms as its primary weapon.
Gundam’s Brand New Anime Confirms First Ever Female Protagonist
Gundam is ready to launch a new generation and era, and I’m really excited to see where it goes.
Also, by the time Suletta comes on screen, why not give another watch to the previous Gundam series?
About Gundam
The Gundam series is a science fiction anime created by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Sunrise, featuring huge robots, known as “Gundam.”
The series changes its setting in each part, ranging from Earth to far-off planets. All the shows have their own story, and some of them take place in an alternative universe.
In every story, Gundam has unique purposes. Sometimes it’s a deadly war weapon, sometimes a beautiful art or sometimes even an outdated technology.
