The release date of Season 3 is just around the corner, and I feel like this is the only good thing to have happened in 2021 so far. The donghua has diluted the novel’s original BL plot, but it is still a fantastic watch.
Mo Dao Zu Shi’s Season 3 is most likely to release in 2021. To delight you, even more, a second trailer for the upcoming season has also been released!
The trailer will strike you in your aesthetic senses before lulling you with its sweet plot. It will hit you next with a wave of nostalgia. Needless to say, Wangji’s soft smile melted me in a split second.
Remember that scene in Season 1 where Lan Wangji chases Wei Wuxian at night to prevent him from drinking alcohol? An exact scene plays out in the trailer, except Wangji is seen enjoying Emperor’s Smile.
Another part of the trailer that has intrigued MDZS fans is that Lan Wangji has corrected Wei Wuxian’s copy of Lan Sect’s rules.
He has corrected and written that the ribbons worn by the Lan Sect’s disciples can only be touched by the “fated” or “destined” person. If that didn’t hit you in the feels, then I don’t know what will.

Mo Dao Zu Shi’s director has revealed that Season 3 is set to have 12 episodes.
Season 3’s first trailer was revealed in January. The action-packed trailer confirmed that the Yi-City arc will be entirely adapted by Season 3. Some later parts of the novel will also be adapted.
Many mysteries are yet to unfold since the truth behind Wei Wuxian’s death is still under covers. Fans are also in severe need of more heart-warming scenes between the handsome duo!
We are not sure whether the anime will conclude with the upcoming season. However, I am convinced that this will be 2021’s highlight for all BL fans out there!
