More Gundam Titles Join the Funimation Family this September
Gundam opened the gateway for mecha sci-fi anime to flourish in the industry. There has hardly ever been a year since the 1970s when we didn’t get any content from the franchise.
The recent movie installment Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway has been buzzing all over the internet since its premiere in July. In times like these, Funimation stepped up its game to please the Gundam fanbase even more.
Funimation partnered with Sunrise and announced four more Mobile Suit Gundam titles would be added to its catalog starting September 7, 2021.
The following Gundam installments will begin streaming on the Funimation platform:
Title | Type |
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing | Anime Series (49 Episodes) |
Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam | Anime Series (50 Episodes) |
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin | Anime Series (6 Episodes) |
Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative | Anime Film |
These titles belong to different eras of the Gundam franchise, which has been and continues to be a significant part of many childhoods.
The fanbase is vast enough to have people of all ages, be it kids, teenagers, or adults. This makes Gundam unique as it is a timeless story that fits every generation.
Recently one of the creators of Gundam, Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, revealed that he is working on another anime film, most likely another mecha. There is nothing more exciting than knowing that Gundam will still go on.
Although I do agree that sometimes the plotlines are dragged and end up becoming lame. Gundam strikes a nostalgic nerve in us, and ruining that brings a lot of negative reviews.
But the franchise always makes up for it by giving us something even better than before. That’s what I love about it.

I cannot wait to binge all of this now that it’s more accessible to the international audience.
Funimation announced that these Gundam installments would be available in English dubbed and subbed versions for UK, US, Canada, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand audiences.
Not only this, but it will also be available for fans in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Peru later.
About Gundam
The Gundam series is a science fiction anime created by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Sunrise, featuring huge robots, known as “Gundam.”
The series changes its setting in each part, ranging from Earth to far-off planets. All the shows have their own story, and some of them take place in an alternative universe.
In every story, Gundam has unique purposes. Sometimes it’s a deadly war weapon, sometimes a beautiful art or sometimes even an outdated technology.
