Musical Manga PPPPPP About Pianist Septuplets Debuts In Shonen Jump
You might have read numerous musical manga about a gifted protagonist who moves everyone with their talents. Now, for a change, get ready for the one who is an absolute dud born in a family of prodigies from the latest manga, PPPPPP.
The manga follows a boy who is blamed and ridiculed for his inferior musical talents. Born in a set of septuplets with a renowned pianist dad, all the siblings were geniuses in the field, except for one.
The protagonist Lucky, who was mediocre and didn’t have the knack for it, was never appreciated by his father. Lucky was constantly mocked by him, who later banned him from playing the piano.
This heart-wrenching manga called PPPPPP made its debut in Weekly Shonen Jump on September 17, 2021. Viz Media and MANGA Plus published the manga’s first chapter in English.
The first chapter is available for free on the official sources, with chapter 2 scheduled for September 26, 2021.
Mapollo 3 gave the protagonist a Cinderella-ish theme with his parents divorced, a sick mom who can’t get out of the hospital, and an abusive aunt who makes him do household chores.
Even after this, he starts playing the piano again for his mother, who always supported him, and to prove his father wrong. The story is gripping with a slight fantasy aspect which you’ll get to know once you read it.
Moreover, the main character himself is unique. Unlike any other shonen protagonist, Lucky doesn’t possess any exceptional inherent talent or skills. All he can do is convey his feelings through his weird style of playing the piano, and only those who are truly knowledgeable can see through it.

The manga gives me a tragic yet hopeful feel which might be the central theme in the upcoming arcs. The way Lucky is, he’s gonna need a lot of practice before he proves his father wrong.
More importantly, I’m interested in how the septuplets will react when they reunite after years since Lucky’s mom took him and the father took the other six.
