One of the more surprising anime hits of 2022 is “My Dress-Up Darling.” The introverted Wakana Gojo, whose major hobby is crafting Hina ningyo dolls, forges an odd connection with Marin Kitagawa, a popular student, towards the start of the series.

It turns out that Marin wants to dress up as some of her favourite actors for cosplay, and Gojo ends up using his sewing abilities to assist her in creating new outfits.

After the premiere of its first season, “My Dress-Up Darling” most do positive reviews from viewers. As a result, at least one “Attack on Titan” fan felt angry with “My Dress-Up Darling” since the latter show’s popularity was becoming close to that of the former.

A fan of the show, the creator of the manga “My Dress-Up Darling” claimed that seeing the first two episodes had left them filled with emotion.

Given how well-liked “My Dress-Up Darling” was, its fans have probably been waiting for news of a successor since since the first season finished in late March 2022.

Fortunately, a few months later, the show’s official social media revealed that Season 2 is currently in the early phases of development.

What Is The Season 2 Storyline For My Dress-Up Darling?

Like the most well-known anime, “My Dress-Up Darling” is based on an ongoing manga series created by artist Shinichi Fukuda. This indicates that, similar to the first season, the forthcoming Season 2 will incorporate current events, and viewers will be able to tell which stories will be adapted.

First and foremost, Season 1 translates Chapters 1-39 of the manga “My Dress-Up Darling,” as Reddit user Ver3232 noted in a debate on the release of Season 2. As a result, several people have asked that Season 2 start with Chapter 40, notably Steeldj22.

Even the opening credits of the show feature video of a dress from Chapter 40 of the manga, suggesting that Season 2, Episode 1 will be the first time fans will see this outfit in the series proper.

Does My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 Have A Trailer?

Although a sequel to “My Dress-Up Darling” is being developed, the official Japanese-language Twitter account for the game only announced this in an initial tweet.

A link to the Japanese-language trailer for the “My Dress-Up Darling” Season 1 sequel can be found in the tweet promoting it. Sony owns anime distributor Aniplex.

This teaser, however, is created entirely out of the current video; as a result, rather than teasing what’s to come, it instead serves as a celebration of everything fans liked about Season 1.

It’s also important to note that the title of the trailer, Gokusen seisaku kettei, suggests that the decision to continue the series is analogous to this. The second season of the sequel being a second season as compared to, say, a movie is not specifically mentioned in this video.

However, animation producer Shota Umehara mentioned the sequel in his tweet announcing the news as “two” or “Niki,” hinting that there would be a second season, adding some context to the scant first trailer-of-sorts.
