My Hero Academia: 5 Situationally Useful Power Abilities

The following is a complete guide to My Hero Academia: Five power quirks that can be handy in certain circumstances.

Fat Absorption

Fat Absorption

Fatgum can take it when his adversaries treat him poorly because of his “Fat Absorption” Quirk. He channeled all of the energy he had absorbed into a single, crushing blow. In the face of this, his defensive prowess against Rappa is undeniable.

His Quirk, however, does not protect him from elemental or non-material attacks. Considering how much effort he expends in order to turn his Quirk into a weapon, this glaring vulnerability in an otherwise invincible hero is frustrating.

Metal Manipulation

Metal Manipulation

Wolfram’s default Quirk gave him the ability to manipulate the metals in any steel he came into contact with. With his enhanced Quirk and physicality, he was a formidable opponent to the likes of Midoriya and All Might, even when they joined forces.

However, his strength is limited to whatever metal he can grasp. If the fight breaks out on a grassy field, he won’t be able to do anything to stop his opponents until he uses the steel he carries. Even with it, his meager arsenal severely limits the usefulness of his Quirk.

Frog

Frog

Because of her “Frog” Quirk, Tsuyu Asui now looks exactly like the amphibian from which the Quirk takes its name. It makes her legs bendy and her tongue long, which makes her a passable fighter.

Her fight against Innsmouth and Shigaraki’s initial assault on U.A. High made it clear, however, that her abilities are best put to use underwater. Even though she can hold her own on dry soil, she is one of Class 1-A’s lowest-ranked fighters because she has no terrain advantage.

Dark Shadow

Dark Shadow

Dark Shadow, the horrific phantasm who served as Tokoyami’s Quirk, was always at his master’s side. He contributed effectively on both attack and defense thanks to the huge range advantage he gave Fumikage by stretching his body.

As a result, his Quirk is versatile and effective against a wide variety of challenges. But there’s a huge catch that could derail his career as a hero: he loses control of his own Quirk when it gets dark.

Lock Down

Lock Down

The Rock Lock, Lock Down, Quirk may instantly stop the movement of any material thing it touches. He could, for instance, continuously maintain the deformed state in which an extremely strong force had bent a steel band. To add to this, he has the ability to levitate items, giving him improbable platforms from which to “fly”.

This makes him a great ally, but his skills are useless against neutral foes and only occasionally helpful against allies like Kamui Woods or, perhaps, Yaoyorozu.
