It appears that Yuji is now considered a player in the Culling Game without ever taking part in it because of Sukuna. Kejaku has revealed earlier that people he made ingest cursed objects are automatically players.

So how did Yuji become one? Unless everything that has ever happened in the story was never a coincidence.

Jujutsu Kaisen manga’s latest chapter 158 hints at a mysterious and intriguing connection between Ryomen Sukuna and Kenjaku.

Since the beginning, we’ve all been led to believe that Yuji ate Sukuna’s fingers on a whim to protect his friends. But Jin Itadori’s debut in chapter 143 raised some questions.

The flashback, which showed us baby Yuji with his dad Jin and grandfather Wasuke, also gave us a glimpse of Yuji’s unnamed mother. The weird thing was she had stitch markings on her forehead like Kenjaku.

Coming back to the present, Yuji has automatically become a player without ever infiltrating one of the colonies. This raises the possibility that Yuji consuming Sukuna’s finger was all part of Kenjaku’s plan.

The notorious cursed-technique user might have made a Binding Vow with Sukuna regarding this over a millennium ago.

Moreover, Yuji’s possible biological mother, who chapter 143 teased, is most likely Kenjaku. Considering how far he can go for his plans, it doesn’t come off as surprising that the evil sorcerer has been preparing Yuji to be Sukuna’s vessel ever since he was born.

Yuji’s mother had stitches on her forehead similar to Noritoshi Kamo and Pseudo-Geto. Kamo was possessed by Kenjaku in the Meiji era and is now in the body of a deceased Suguru Geto.

Kenjaku might have gotten hold of a woman’s body and possessed it to have Yuji and prepare him as Sukuna’s vessel. Everything happening to Yuji must have been part of the contract between Sukuna and Kenjaku.

All of this would explain Yuji’s extraordinary physical abilities and holding the King of Curses inside him. Moreover, this fact would change the whole tide of the plot as many would begin to question Itadori as well.

If he is designed to be Sukuna’s vessel, then will he betray Jujutsu Tech in the end? Will he be forced to do something horrible? Will he be forced to give himself up?

Those questions are something I do not want to think about. Who would’ve guessed that this innocent boy would be dragged into so much dirt? But such is the fate of a shonen protagonist.
