Mystery Series The Society Cancelled by Netflix

The Society, a mystery series by Netflix has been cancelled, while we all waited eagerly for the new season to drop.

So Netflix has decided to cancel The Society even after renewing it for a second season. As of now, there won’t be another season, now or ever.

The mystery drama is a modern retelling of Lord of the Flies. Itcenters around students from a wealthy New England enclave, who return home from a scrubbed camping trip to find that everyone they left behind has vanished.

While at first, they decide to take advantage of the situation, it soon becomes clear they need to establish some sort of social order, while they figure out what has happened to them and where they really are.

You’d think it is exactly the kinda drama one would want to watch while preparing for the apocalypse we are living in.

But Netflix has different plans. Apparently, Kissing Booth is better off in preparing us for the worst.

The mystery drama starred Rachel Keller, c, Alex Fitzalan, Kristine Froseth, Jacques Colimon, Sean Berdy, Toby Wallace, Gideon Adlon, Olivia DeJonge, Alex MacNicoll, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Jose Julian, Salena Qureshi, Jack Mulhern, and Grace Victoria Cox.

Season one with its 10 episodes was released on May 10, 2019.

The Society was renewed for a second season a couple of months later and plans were underway for the show’s return.

However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the second season will not be produced.
