Naruto’s Mangaka Recreates Dragon Ball’s Volume Cover to Celebrate the 40th Anniversary

Without Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball, anime and manga wouldn’t be as popular outside Japan as it is now. It has been the flag-bearer for the weebs since the 80s leading us to this glorious age of anime and manga.

Growing up screaming like Goku to turn into a Super Saiyan and being stared at awkwardly by my family members, didn’t make my love for Dragon Ball depreciate by any means.

Rather, I began admiring Dragon Ball more and followed the tailed monkey’s journey who is still striving to be the strongest in the whole universe even after decades of the serialization of Dragon Ball.

And to celebrate Goku’s never-ending hunger to be the strongest, Saikyo Jump will celebrate Dragon Ball’s 40th Anniversary by recreating one of the 42 Dragon Ball Manga Volume Covers each month by different mangakas. The project is called DRAGON BALL Super Gallery Project.

The campaign will begin on August 4, 2021, and will end in November 2024 as Dragon Ball started serialization on November 20, 1984, which marks exactly 40 years of serialization. There will be a total of 40 volume cover redesigns between this period.

This won’t stop here, you might get to see one of your favorite mangakas recreating one of the Dragon Ball Volumes. But the most interesting fact is that no one knows the name of the other 39 mangakas redesigning the rest of the volume covers.

We will update this article if we get any new info about the names of other mangakas that are going to redesign the volume covers. Till then, You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter for more updates about your favorite anime and manga spoilers.
