Naruto’s Sasuke and Konoha Spinoff Manga to Launch in English
Viz media and MANGA Plus began publishing both the Naruto: Sasuke’s Story – The Uchiha and the HeavenlyStardust and the Naruto: Konoha’s Story – The steam Ninja Scrolls spinoff manga in English on October 22 and October 28 respectively, as announced by Shonen Jump’s Official Twitter account.
The two manga were released in English in Japan on October 23 and October 29, respectively.
The Naruto: Sasuke’s Story—The Uchiha and the Heavenly Stardust: The Manga is based on Jun Esaka’s Naruto spinoff light novel Sasuke Retsuden. The novel is one of Naruto’s most popular and widely-liked spin offs to date.
The events of the novel, written by Jun Esaka and illustrated by Masahi Kishimoto, take place after the events of Naruto Shippuden and before Boruto: Naruto Next Generation and the plot revolves around Sasuke’s journey to save his best friend, Naruto Uzumaki.
In the beginning of the novel Naruto falls ill with a chakra-blocking illness and in pursuit of a cure, Sasuke poses as a prisoner to infiltrate Astronomy Research Institute.
Sasuke, with the help of his old sensei Kakashi, and his new wife Sakura, must heal Naruto before his illness endangers the entirety of Kohona.
The story as described by MANGA Plus is:
Uchiha Sasuke heads for an astronomical observatory, far from the Land of Fire. There, he syncs up with Sakura, and together they dive into an undercover investigation in search of traces of the Sage of Six Paths! The two are soon drawn into a deadly conspiracy! The popular spin-off novel, now as a manga series!
The light novel was originally published in Japan in August 2019 by Shueisha and its official English translation will be available on November 22, 2022. Shingo Kimura will be illustrating the manga.
Naruto: Konoha’s Story—The Steam Ninja Scrolls: The Mangais based also based on a light novel of the same name written by Sho Hinata and illustrated by Masahi Kishimoto. The manga will be illustrated by Natsuo Sai.
Shueisha originally published the novel in August 2016.
The plot of Naruto: Konoha’s Story focuses on Mirai Sarutobi on a special mission with Might Guy and Kakashi Hatake. This story has already received an anime adaptation in the Boruto movie.
MANGA Plus describes the story as:
The Naruto spin-off novel is now a manga series! The retired Kakashi and Guy head to a hot springs in the Land of Hot Water with their bodyguard, Sarutobi Mirai! A story connecting two generations through the power of bonds!
Both the manga will follow a bi-weekly release schedule and will be available to read on Viz Media’s official website, the Shonen Jump+ app, and the MANGA Plus official website and app.

Naruto is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. Its publication began on September 21, 1999, and continued till November 10, 2014, in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. The manga has collected 72 volumes in tankōbon format.
Naruto Shippuden is Part II of the anime series, which follows an older Naruto as he attempts to save his friend Sasuke while at the same time – addressing the looming threat of the criminal organization – Akatsuki – who are targeting him for their grander scheme.
