During the Boruto stage event at Jump Festa 2019, Naruto Manga writer Masashi Kishimoto will be partnering with his former assistant and illustrater Akira Ōkubo for a new manga work Samurai 8: Hachimaruden which will release in spring 2019.
Kishimoto teased his new manga back in October 2015, and afterwards in a interview with Jump Giga magazine revealed that he already has finished research and concept idea.

Akira Ōkubo will be in-charge of illustrating while Kishimoto will provide the story. The manga will debut Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump magazine in spring 2019. Here is what Kishimoto has to say about his new manga.
Being a lover of both Japanese rich culture and decor and the sci-fi things, I decided them together to depict in this work. I’ll work as hard as possible to make it even more interesting than the Naruto series.
