New Forspoken Trailer Takes Us Deeper Into The Land Of Athia
Square Enix, famous for its Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts game franchises, has revealed further details from its upcoming action-fantasy game Forspoken. Prior to this, Square Enix released two more trailers that highlight other features of the game.
On Thursday, Square Enix released a third “Forspoken Deep Dive” trailer on its official YouTube channel. The video reveals further information about the gameplay and the overall world of Athia, where the game is set in.
The trailer showcases a lot of features in the game which were not disclosed earlier. For example, sacred stones called Monuments are spread all around Athia. Freeing these stones from the break will give Frey different boosts, like increased health, magic, or defense.
Certain Monuments also unlock challenges called “Flashbacks”. Completing them will also provide Frey with rewards, including Mana to unlock new spells. These can be replayed from the map directly.
There are other ways to increase skills and character stats in the game like Founts of Blessing, Spellcraft Challenges, and Partha, a dice-like game that temporarily boosts any of Frey’s abilities.
In terms of battle, you will come across challenges like Locked Labyrinths and Combat Challenges, rewarding you with valuables. You can also earn special items by trading Old Coins or completing requests.
For something less casual, magical feline creatures, known as Tantas Familiars are also spread around the world for you to pet. There are photo spots as well where you can take pictures and share it with the children to unlock more photo mode features.
Square Enix also shared the ‘magic parkour’ and ‘magic combat’ features of the game in its previous Deep Dive trailers. With so much to explore in Athia, Forspoken certainly has a lot to keep us glued to the game in some or the other way.
Forspoken will release on January 24, 2023, on PS5 and PC. The game will be exclusive to the PS5 console until January 24, 2025.
