The Staff of Sword Art Online Progressive revealed a new poster for the anime film. The poster was revealed at the Aniplex Online Fest 2021. The film will open on October 30 in Japan.
Participating theaters in Japan will begin selling the second batch of tickets. This time the tickets come as a bundle called MoviTicke Cards. It also comes with an A-4 size clear folder. It also comes along with visuals from the new movie.
Inori Minase who plays as Goddess Hestia in Is it Wrong to Try to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon? will be voicing the new character Mito.

Ayako Kawano from Seven Deadly Sins: Prisoners in the Sky is directing the movie. She is directing the film in A-1 studios with Kento Toya from SAO Alicization designing the characters.
Yasuyuki Kai is the Action Director of the Movie and Yuki Kajiura is composing the music. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Haruka Tomasu are returning as Kirito and Asuna respectively.
The anime Sword Art Online Progressive is based on Reki Kawahara’s light novel series. It is a retelling of the the main Sword Art Online novel. The story tells Kirito’s journey through the floating Aincrad castle from the beginning, floor-by-floor.
Yen Press is also publishing an english adaptation of the light novel series along with two manga adaptations. The Sword Art Online Progressive anime film tells the story of Kirito and Asuna before they became lovers.
The film tells about Kirito’s struggle to conquer Aincrad as well as Asuna’s own struggles. The prespective of both parties before the events of the orginal SAO story is shown in this movie.
