New Trailer of ‘Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War’ Introduces the Sternritter
Forget every other anime release this year because it’s time to relive our childhood with Bleach.
Considered one of the Big 4 in the anime community, every Bleach fan has been waiting for the series’ most anticipated arc to be animated. It’s surprising how patiently we’ve been waiting, considering it’s been ten years since we last got to see our favorite Shinigami.
Bleach’s Thousand-Year Blood War arc is a legendary one with a fan base of its own. What makes it so epic is the Sternritter, an elite squad of the most powerful Quincy, and Viz Media’s latest trailer shows that studio Pierrot has done justice to the characters.
It starts by showing glimpses of the confined Quincy King, Yhwach, as he recites the Kaiser Gesang song. The song states that the confined emperor will gain his pulse after 900 years, his mind after another 90 years, his strength after another 9 years, and lastly, the world after 9 days of his reawakening.
Sounds like another evil boss on his way to destroy the world because how dare a shonen protagonist’s world experience peace for this long?
The trailer then shows Ichigo in action while a dramatic tune plays in the background, followed by Asguiaro Ebern, Sternritter member Quilge Opie, Rukia, Renji, Gotei 13, and Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto.
As destruction ensues, we witness the Shinigami division captains facing other members of the Sternritter in thrilling battles. The video ends with the final introduction of Yhwach sitting on a throne and a voice asking Ichigo to save the Soul Society.
Viz Media has also revealed new key art featuring the Gotei 13 with Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto and the Sternritter with Yhwach. The anime is set to premiere in October this year.
Bleach Announces October Premiere of Final Arc with Dashing New Trailer
The Thousand-Year Blood War arc is 19 volumes long, so they better give us a good number of episodes because I want every detail from the manga in it.
We’ve been waiting since 2012, and I think we deserve this much.
About Bleach
Bleach is a Japanese anime television series based on Tite Kubo’s manga of the same name. The anime series adapts Kubo’s manga but also introduces some new, original, self-contained story arcs.
It is based in Karakura Town on a 15-year-old high school student Ichigo Kurosaki who becomes a substitute Soul Reaper when Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper, puts Soul Reaper powers in Ichigo. They barely manage to kill the hollow.
Although initially reluctant to accept the heavy responsibility, he begins eliminating some more hollows and also discovers that several of his friends and classmates are spiritually aware and have powers of their own.
