We have good news and bad news for you. One Piece 988 Spoilers have dropped earlier than usual and One Piece 989 has been delayed due to a break next week. These are probably due to the Covid-19 issues in Japan.
It seems like we will end this year with Chapter 999 or Chapter 1000. That means the next 17 weeks will have 11 or 12 chapters maximum, which makes sense given Oda’s 3 chapters per month schedule. Although given One Piece’s calculated length, we won’t see the end in 5 years (unless it’s rushed).
Zoro fans are having a hard time after One Piece Chapter 988 spoilers and Sanji fans are rubbing their noses in it. Just like Zoro and Sanji bickering in the manga, the fans are angry at each other! And Brook is the underrated gem here. Let us get down to the spoilers.
The Sulong forms have appeared. One Piece 888 was the first chapter to introduce the Sulong concept – Carrot transformed. Now, 100 chapters later, it has returned to dazzle us once more. We were expecting Neko and Inu but Oda is a fan of build-up; he wants to show the other minks before he unleashes the two kings to us!

One Piece 988 Spoilers:
Chapter 988 is named “Sorry for the wait”
The cover story contains Pound. Some people, maybe Marines, are shooting at him as he swims towards his daughters’ ship.
We get to see the events unfolding on the dome of Onigashima as Kaido faces the Akazaya and Mink troops. Jack goes to the roof with his subordinates, which includes Number Seven. Neko and Inu move in to punish him for Zou.
However The Musketeers under Inu and the Guardians under Neko transform into Sulong and face Kaido. This allows the dukes to focus solely on Kaido.
Shinobu attempts to free Momo but King attacks her. That’s when Sanji sneaks away the kid. King clashes with Sanji who praises Momo and passes him over to Shinobu. King has turned into Pteranodon form and crashes with Sanji into a wall.
Big Mom attacks Luffy, who wants to go to the roof to fight Kaido. Her attack is incredibly strong and discourages the Samurai. Zeus is summoned and he reluctantly attacks Nami. But Brook and Franky arrive in time to save the Navigator.
Brook cuts Zeus in half once again. Franky rams his bike into Big Mom’s face.

One Piece Manga 988 Short Discussion:
This is just a preliminary discussion for this chapter. We will go in-depth in the next article that will focus on One Piece 989 Spoilers. Keep an eye out for that, it will arrive in the next 3/4 days.
The Chapter name is somewhat ironic since we fans have to keep waiting 2 weeks for every chapter – One Piece is basically a biweekly manga right now. And the cover story has more misery for poor Pound. Oda has brought him back just to break his heart and torture him more. But maybe this storyline will be relevant later on in the story.
We always expected the Calamities to intercept this fight. Even though Kaido has acknowledged the Akazaya, the 3 Calamities have no reason to sit back. In fact, in the last chapter, Queen was trying to reorganize the forces against the raiders.
Anyways, Jack and King act in this chapter. Jack decides to follow, obviously, and he will have to face multiple elite Mink warriors. We remember Ashura Douji injuring Jack, so elite Minks can probably deal decent damage too.
As for King, he can fly. And who else is a better opponent than Marco? Oh yes its Sanji. While we don’t believe King will be Sanji’s final opponent, they can have a proper clash. Sanji can fly very well with his raid suit, he has the new invisibility and he can fight very well in air. This can be one of the better clashes in Act 3.
Lastly we have Brook facing Big Mom, for the second time. Brook is not a top tier character when it comes to strength but he has to face Big Mom. The first time, he dealt no damage but managed to complete his task. We can simply hope that he can fight and escape Big Mom – he can’t defeat her, so a strategic retreat is better.
We were under the impression that Brook and Franky are gunning for the Poneglyph rubbing and that’s why they were absent for so long. Guess we will find out why Brook has to meet Big Mom in One Piece 988 spoilers as they release online.
