Law and Kid finally defeat the stubborn old Big Mom who doesn’t admit defeat until the very end. While the scene shifts from Big Mom’s defeat to Momonosuke, the chapter ends in a very intriguing manner.

Momonosuke mentioned Zunesha’s coming to Wano to Yamato. Yamato asks him if he was the same elephant that Oden mentioned in his journal.

Momonosuke agreed with this statement and quoted, “He was the same elephant Zunesha, the Nakama of Joy Boy who committed a crime 800 years ago.”

The very statement of Momonosuke confirms that Zunesha was once Joy Boy’s friend or crewmate. Besides, the way Momonosuke mentioned them suggests the crime was committed while Zunesha was a companion of Joy Boy.

Joy Boy could potentially be directly related to the crime, with Zunesha perhaps violating a law to protect its friend. Zunesha could have even accepted the blame for Joy Boy, knowing how significant he was at the time.

Chapter 1041 will definitely give us an explanation of how exactly Zunesha and Joy Boy are connected.

The ending of the Wano arc has officially begun with Big Mom’s defeat and Zunesha’s true identity. With Zunesha’s new identity revealed a major flashback on Zunesha and Joy Boy is likely to come next.
