One Piece Chapter 1069: Rob Lucci’s New Powers, Devil Fruits’ Secret, and More!
On December 8, 2022, One Piece chapter 1069 spoilers were leaked. This issue was highly anticipated and delivered on all fronts. Many fantastic things happened, including the return of Gear 5 Luffy.
We saw Lucci’s Awakened form, and the combat between Lucci and Luffy began. This was a fantastic homage to the Enies Lobby arc, which was one of the best to date.
This episode also had Dr.Vegapunk, who told us about the origins of Devil Fruits. The origins of these strange fruits are immensely intriguing and true to the series’ theme.

One Piece chapter 1069 exposes Rob Lucci’s new abilities. Despite having orders not to fight Luffy, Lucci begins the battle with the Yonko. Vegapunk reveals the origin of Devil Fruits, while Sentomaru appears on the scene with Seraphims.
1. The ‘Pigeon Guy’
Chapter 1069 begins with Egghead Island in disarray and various workers escaping Lucci. Chopper knows Lucci and gasps in fear, while Jinbe is surprised that they are after Dr.Vegapunk.
Meanwhile, our hero addresses Lucci as “Pigeon Guy” and inquires as to what he is doing here. Lucci obviously responds to this jerk by informing him that they are on Government Island.
It makes more sense for them to live on the island instead of Strawhats. Kaku tells Lucci that he cannot fight Luffy because he is now a Yonko. Isn’t it nice that they now require authorization to engage Luffy?
2. Lucci Is Ordered To Wait For Reinforcements By Akainu.!
The chapter shifts to Marine Headquarters, where Akainu appears concerned about the potential of Luffy and Vegapunk making a deal. That would be extremely detrimental to the government.
It is discovered that Kizaru has already left for Egghead with reinforcements, as planned. Akainu orders Lucci to wait for the Marines and to avoid any contact with Luffy at all costs.
3. Awakened Powers by Rob Lucci and the Return of Gear 5
Even after being told to stand back, the two old adversaries begin fighting. The Awakened form of Rob Lucci is then revealed. He wears a black flame scarf around his neck and shoulders, similar to Gear 5 Luffy.
Dr. Vegapunk enters and inquires about Nami’s knowledge of Luffy’s new form. She responds that it could be Gomu Gomu Ni’s Powers. The Strawhats are shocked when Vegapunk explains that there is no such Devil Fruit referenced in the encyclopedia.
He then explains that Luffy’s Devil Fruit is a Mythical Zoan-type Human-Human Fruit called Nika. He claims that even though the name Nika has been obliterated, Nika will continue to exist as long as people’s aspirations survive.
4. Devil Fruit Origins!
The legend of Devil Fruit’s origins has captivated fans. According to Dr. Vegapunk, the Devil Fruits are genuinely the product of people’s wishes.
He informs the Strawhats that the Devil Fruits are abnormal and hence rejected by the Sea, which is the Devil Fruits’ only weakness. He exclaims that the world in which they live is genuinely great.
5. Sentomaru and Seraphims Make an Appearance!
Boa, Jinbe, and Mihawk replica Seraphims appear with Sentomaru. He requests instructions from Vegapunk, who instructs him to attack CP0. He initially exhibits hesitation, but in the end chooses to support the one person who was able to save him.
Sentomaru is severely hurt as Lucci uses the “Hand Gun” on him, interrupting the situation. Luffy frets about Sentomaru as the chapter comes to a close.
6. What should the following chapters contain?
In the upcoming weeks, a significant conflict is anticipated. As far as we know, Kizaru is bringing more Marines to the island. Obviously, this will result in a significant conflict between the Marines and the strawhats.
Now that Sentomaru is hurt, we are left to speculate about what will happen to him. Due to Sentomaru’s injury, we do not know who the Seraphims will support either!
We can only patiently wait for Oda-sensei to bestow his genius upon us. Let’s do what we do best in the interim—anticipate and conjecture!
